Suzie Wright

I live in the Dales, near Askrigg. I make in my workshop at home and in my studio at Farfield Mill, Sedbergh.

I was taught ceramics as a child by a wonderful teacher, Elizabeth Wilkinson. In homage to her and how we referred to the art form then, it will always all be 'pottery' to me.

 Over the years I have experimented with different clays, glazes and materials finding many inspirations for my work. My love of pottery is an ongoing adventure.

My ideas come from what I experience everyday, running and walking in the fields and hills where we live. My love of the outdoors is fundamental to my creative process.

In 2025, I began a life long wish to complete an art degree. This is taking my ideas even further in new directions.

Workshops

 During my working life I was able to returned to the stress relieving, relaxing experience of creating with clay. I enjoy introducing others to this wonderful material.
